Willard Community Center helps area residents grow, connect, and contribute to our community.
The Willard Community Center is a not-for-profit agency located in the West "A" Neighborhood of Lincoln, Nebraska. The Center opened its doors in March of 1980. Five months later the Willard Community Center, A Corporation was established. Originally created to provide a safe space for neighborhood youth, the Center has evolved into so much more, as it provides neighborhood-based services for all individuals of our diverse community.
Currently, Willard Community Center has a year-round licensed preschool, as well as before and after school programs for elementary school children at Roper and Lakeview Elementary Schools. An all-day summer program is available at Willard for elementary age children. Middle school youth can also take part in youth programming, including before and after school, summer and evening activities. High school students can volunteer for class credit or work in our child care program. Adults are able participate in a variety of self-help or hobby groups, aerobics, and licensed Bingo.
Willard Community Center rooms are rented by many families for gatherings such as baby showers, family reunions, or holiday parties. Willard is also utilized by neighborhood businesses as a classroom and training site.
Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The facility is available for private events on Saturday and Sunday for a nominal fee.
